Obviously in true Vikoi style this one is mechanical. Built rather than born, its body is metal and circuitry where there should be membrane and water. And yet something in its movement remains, that same unhurried drift, that same quiet persistence through an environment that was never quite designed for it.
JellyFish sits at the threshold that preoccupies a lot of my work. The boundary between the biological and the engineered, between what a body is and what it might become. It asks whether the essence of a thing survives its reconstruction. Whether you can replace every original part and still call it alive.
