The tools of making have always fascinated me as objects in their own right. Brushes worn down to nothing, handles stained with every colour I've ever used. There's a whole history in them before a single mark hits the canvas.
These weird simulations are standing in front of the tools, studying the arrangement, trying to work out what these objects do and what they mean and what happens when you pick one up and put it to a surface. One is already holding a brush. Not using it yet but feeling the weight of the possibility. That's often how I start a canvas.
Singularity isn't just about processing power or accumulated data but at some point it has to reckon with the brush in the pot. With the question of what it means to make something that didn't exist before. With whether understanding a tool and using a tool are the same thing.
Digital A3 prints on matt 250gsm paper.
